Sclerotherapy treatment is a non-surgical procedure used to remove the appearance of small veins in the legs also known as Spider Veins. Sclerotherapy works by injecting a solution called sclerosant directly into the vein. The solution will cause the affected vein to swell from the sclerosant , which cuts of the flow of blood. This will then shrink the vessel causing it to scar, which will force blood to reroute to healthier veins. The vein that has been injected will collapse due to the scarring and be reabsorbed into the body tissue, causing it to eventually fade.

A local anaesthetic cream will be applied 20-30 minutes before the treatment.
You can expect a small degree of swelling and bruising at the injection site but this should subside over the next few days .
